Audi Q2

The Audi Q2 is the smallest of the Q series of sport utility vehicles sold locally by ATL Automotive. In that way, it exudes that younger brother syndrome to its older and more established siblings up the model range. While they tow the company line, the Q2 is able to slip in a bit of its own personality, and be a more fun take on the SUV formula.

Audi Q3 revamps with sharper designs

March 23, 2021 / 0 Comments / 2201 / ATL News, Audi, Auto Reviews

The subcompact SUVs are all the craze these days, because of their ride height and storage capacity, plus, they are usually built on a car’s chassis. This greatly improves the ride comfort and manoeuvrability, while it gives them the ability to tackle challenging road conditions. This concept has been a trend from the mid ’90s, with Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V being some of the frontrunners.

It seemed as though luxury automakers were the last to catch on to the trend, as most waited until the late 2000s to manufacture these body types. In 2011, Audi entered the market with their luxury crossover, the Q3, with a dynamic 1.4L engine that promised to add power while saving gas.

Audi e-tron GT Quattro: An Audi Like No Other

March 4, 2021 / 1 Comments / 2095 / ATL News, Audi, Environment, New Models

ON February 9, Audi unveiled its future in the form of an all-new full-electric high-performance four-door sports coupé, the e-tron GT quattro. The new vehicle sparkles with the shine of the company’s now famous tagline Vorsprung Durch Technik, or as translated into English, ‘Progress through technology’.

There is plenty of significant technology on display in the e-tron GT staring with its ultimate nod to the future, the transition to battery electric propulsion. Quattro means all-wheel drive for Audi and the system has also evolved for electrification. Rather than the traditional methods of routing engine power to all four wheels via mechanical transfer cases and differentials, the e-tron GT quattro drives all its wheels with electric all-wheel drive. Two electric motors sit at each axle, one in front, the other in rear. They combine to give the vehicle 476 horsepower and 464.7 lb/ft of torque. In boost mode torque rises to 472 lb/ft and horsepower to 530 for a maximum of 2.5 seconds. This sends the e-tron GT Quattro to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and on to a top speed of 245 km/h.

Audi Q7 Makes Bold Statement

June 4, 2020 / 0 Comments / 1114 / ATL News, Audi

WHEN it comes to seven-seat sport utility vehicles (SUV), the Audi Q7 is easily the best of the bunch. However, even though it has the ability to handle three rows of human cargo, that hasn’t stopped the brand from not resting on its laurels with the new 2020 model.

The exterior is drawn from the sportier Q8 for some fresh looks. Full LED headlights, tail lights and the new octagon-shaped single- frame grill blend well with the longer, stately body lines necessary for the Q7 to handle the third row of passengers.

Audi Q3 – The Perfect Choice

April 20, 2020 / 0 Comments / 1192 / ATL News, Audi

Form versus function, looks versus ability. These are all elements that are constantly at odds with one another. However, the 2020 Audi Q3 and its Sportback version are the automotive equivalent of having your cake and eating it too.

For those versed in Audi lore, the Sportback moniker gets applied to models having a sleeker profile, usually a sloped roofline or hatchback. So, for the folks looking for a small, luxury sport utility vehicle (SUV), there’s the standard Q3 recently refreshed for its second generation. For those wanting a more coupé-like slant to their SUV styling, there’s the Q3 Sportback. The Sportback gets a lower roofline towards the rear, digging into the design language created by the brand’s other coupé SUV, the larger Q8. Both are good looking SUVs, so ultimately it’s just a matter of buyer perspective.

Review: Audi Q3 – The Stylish Side Of Minimal Gas Consumption

Ever since brands like BMW experimented with the X6 at the dawn of the 21st century, luxury automakers are making a vehicle for every niche market. Audi, a brand that has thrived on the rally circuit, with its Quattro engine, is also making a name for itself in a slightly new area. Being one of the first high-end brands to enter the luxury subcompact market, the Q3 is now in its second generation, with a bigger body and better proportions than the previous model.

Audi steadfastly sticks to its tried and true design language, starting with its octagonal grille, borrowed from the Q8, and two trapezoidal intakes. From a front view, it’s impossible to mistake it for any other brand, and this time, it’s on the aggressive side. There is also a strong character line which runs below the bonnet, and through to the trunk.
