Audi Jamaica has introduced its newest mild hybrid sport utility vehicle (SUV), the new 2020 Audi Q7.

This class-leading SUV combines progressive design with innovative technology to offer superb dynamics, premium comfort and superior spaciousness.

“The new design of the Audi Q7 is both striking and fiercely appealing. The exterior sports the Audi signature look while the interior is packed with innovative safety and technological features,” a company release quotes Audi Jamaica Sales Manager Uche McLean.

“Previous Q7 models are described as possibly the best automobile money can buy and customers can expect an even higher level of greatness with this new model,” McLean added.

Audi Jamaica is the arm of ATL Automotive Group responsible for the Audi brand in Jamaica.

The Q7 demonstrates the hallmark SUV elements of Audi’s current design language. Upfront, it bears the large octagon-shaped single-frame grill, with six upright slats providing structure. As such, the Q7 looks even more powerful and assertive. The two-part side air inlets have a much more expressive line, as does the sill area that underscores the large SUV’s ground clearance and, in turn, its off-road capabilities.

The headlights, optionally available with HD Matrix LED technology which includes the Audi laser light, are emphasised with their contour and light signature on this full-size SUV.

On the restyled rear, a striking chrome strip creates the visual connection between the flat lights – with their technical-looking graphics – and carries forward the horizontal body line.

“Whether with five or seven seats, the Audi Q7 combines immense prestige with practical, everyday qualities. Through its new design, the large SUV has now grown 11 millimetres and outdoes its direct competitors with interior length as well as headroom and elbow room in the front and rear,” the company stated.

“The cockpit architecture harmonises perfectly with the new, digital operating concept, which incorporates two large touch screens. When off, the top display slots almost invisibly into the large black, decorative surface. All elements refer logically to one another – from the flat air vent strip to the wide console on the centre tunnel.”

The contoured ambient lighting package illuminates the interior. Convenient equipment options include four-zone automatic air-conditioning, a power-assist function to close the doors quietly, Bose premium sound system with 3D sound, Audi smartphone interface, and wireless phone charging.

“The standard mild hybrid technology plays a major part in the efficiency of the engines. If the driver takes his/her foot off the accelerator at speeds between 55 and 160 km/h, the Audi Q7 recuperates energy, rolls in idle, or coasts for up to 40 seconds with the engine switched off after which it switches on again – all in the aim of lowering fuel consumption,” the release explained.
