Since 2018, with the release of the Audi Q8, the company is adamant that it wants a place in the mid-size luxury crossover coupe market. Porsche’s Enlightening Perspective

June 19, 2020 / 0 Comments / 1159 / ATL News, Porsche

HOW do you make the best sport utility vehicle (SUV) better? You harness the power of electricity like Porsche has for its largest model, the Cayenne. The superiority of the Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid is built on the pillars of performance, luxury and efficiency.

The Cayenne has completed the transition from its controversial initial styling to the belle of the ball in its recent third-generation upgrades, to the point where it’s passing down its design language to other Porsches in the line. The familial elements are there, but the Porsche manages to do something unique. The shape demarks it as understated and, at a distance, it blends into the sea of other SUVs. However, draw closer and those in the know, or more specifically those in elevated income brackets, will recognise it. It’s like people telling you: ‘nice watch!’, but that one person gives you the thumbs up because they know you’re rolling a Seamaster 300M on your wrist. Specific to the E-Hybrid is the acid green badging. That colour is applied to the massive brake callipers.

VW Touareg Continues to Evolve

June 19, 2020 / 1 Comments / 1779 / ATL News, Volkswagen

Believe it or not, there are some among us who would rather not have their wealth on display. That doesn’t mean they want to be slumming it either. They want to retain the trappings of luxury without the unwanted attention. It’s at this moment the Volkswagen Touareg, the brand’s largest sport utility vehicle (SUV), steps in.

From the outside, the Touareg is attractive with its conservative styling. It looks similar to several other upmarket rivals, and will fit in well with whatever is filling those upper St Andrew parking lots, but it won’t pull the unnecessary attention. The Touareg saves that for the inside.

Since then, technology has allowed us to build and design cars with almost any feature we desire. Cars now have a lot more surface area than they used to and as such require a lot more dedication and effort when it comes to cleaning. We may not realize it but we touch a lot of the surface space on and inside of our cars with every journey.

Porsche Macan – Auto Review

June 4, 2020 / 0 Comments / 1267 / ATL News, Auto Reviews, Porsche

Recently, I have been doing a lot of reviews on compact crossover SUVs due to the interest they have been receiving in our market. Size-wise, they fit into most spots around town, and because they are smaller than mid-size SUVs, they are usually more fuel-efficient.

A year ago, I reviewed the Porsche Cayenne, which was a monster on the road, as well as eye candy for commuters. The acceleration was instantaneous and aggressive, to the point where I felt offended whenever anyone overtook me. I remember being on the South Coast Highway and a pickup van passing me. I quickly returned the favour and stared him down, just as a gesture for him to remember his place.
