JULY saw the worldwide release of the second generation Audi Q3, and the highly anticipated compact luxury SUV will soon be available local on shores, courtesy of ATL Automotive.

“2019 has been an exciting year for Audi. In January, we welcomed the arrival of the Q8, featuring state-of-the-art technology, and now with this second-generation Q3, which also features much of the same technology. The Q3 has and always will be a core unit of the Q-Range, as it allows persons to experience Audi in all its glory — Vorsprung Durch Technik — and technology at an affordable price starting at only $6,995,000,” said Stephen Hector, sales and marketing director ATL Automotive Group, told the Jamaica Observer’s weekly Auto magazine.

The 2020 Audi Q3 is a newly designed compact-SUV with well-rounded talents. Now in its second generation it appears not only visually more self-confident, but offers even more value thanks to abundant space, comprehensive adaptability and numerous practical details. In keeping with the top-of-the-line Audi models, it features a digital operating and display concept, extensive infotainment solutions and innovative assist systems, ensuring additional connectivity and ease of comfort.

Compared with its predecessor, the new Audi Q3 has grown in virtually all dimensions — longer, wider and higher with luggage space of 19 cubic feet making the Audi Q3 the largest vehicle in the sub-compact premium SUV class. As standard, the rear seats can be moved fore/aft by 5.9 in.

The 2020 Q3 is eye-catching, featuring the latest Audi design language featured in its bigger brother — the Q8 like the slimmer LED headlights and octagonal Singleframe grille.

The cabin is also inspired by the Q8. Customers can craft their perfect driving experience with a Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system, and ambient lighting in a choice of 30 colours. The operating and display concept of the SUV has been overhauled from the ground up. With the top-of-the-line equipment MMI navigation plus, the displays appear in the Audi virtual cockpit, which offers many additional functions. Standard also is an easy to operate 10.1-inch touch display in the middle of the dashboard.

Powered by a 1.4-litre turbo-charged gasoline engine with 150 hp and 184.4 lb-ft of torque, the Q3 is also extremely fuel-efficient, as it features the cylinder on demand system, which switches off the second and third cylinder temporarily at low and medium loads — for example, when in traffic — thus helping to reduce fuel consumption. Along with the seven-speed S-tronic transmission, the Audi Q3 delivers an efficient 39.9 – 41.3 US mpg.
