The Audi e-tron electrifies the Four Ring model line-up
Kingston, Jamaica – Debuted globally in 2018, the Audi e-tron is the first fully electric SUV from the brand with the four rings. The sporty SUV combines the space and comfort of a typical luxury class automobile with a range suitable for everyday use, catapulting the driver into a new era with the electrical all-wheel drive. After much anticipation and on the ground preparation, the e-tron will arrive on Jamaican shores and Audi Jamaica will present its first premium all-electric full-size SUV suitable for everyday use in July 2022.
Uche’ Mclean, Sales Manager, Audi Jamaica shared, “Our excitement continues to grow as the arrival date of the first e-tron draws closer. The Audi e-tron is a game changer as it offers the space and features that customers have come to expect from a luxury brand, especially Audi. Plus with this all-electric model, they can forget the high fuel costs of filling up their tanks. Charge whenever, wherever – at your home, office or convenient locations island-wide. We foresee the e-tron leading the charge in the fully electric premium SUV segment. Look out Jamaica – it’s going to be an electrifying summer powered by the Audi e-tron!”
Whether stationary or on the move, the Audi e-tron is electrifying. It offers the spaciousness and comfort of one of Audi’s typical full-size models paired with high-quality materials and fine workmanship, it makes electric mobility a premium experience. Its expressive sill area, the electric tailboard and the light gray Singleframe are indicators of the high-voltage technology that makes for a special driving experience.
The Audi e-tron’s panoramic roofing, multi-colored ambient lighting, and Bang & Olufsen Premium Sound system with 3D Sound, create the ultimate sensory experience. The high roofline, provides additional space inside the cabin without sacrificing seating space. As a Top Safety Pick by the IIHS, the Audi e-tron has standard driver-assist technology, such as semi-autonomous drive modes, adaptive cruise control, self-parking assist, forward collision warning, automated emergency braking, and lane departure warning.
The electric SUV is powered by two powerful electric motors that are locally CO2-neutral and virtually silent. A new generation of the quattro drive, the electric all-wheel drive, ensures excellent traction and dynamics. It ensures the continuous and variable regulation of the ideal distribution of drive torques between the two axles – within a fraction of a second.
A key factor for the sporty character and outstanding transverse dynamics is the low and central position of the battery system. It gives the vehicle a range that is suitable for driving long distances. During far more than 90 percent of all decelerations, the Audi e-tron recovers energy solely via its electric motors. The electric SUV taps its maximum recuperation potential in combination with the integrated electrohydraulic brake control system. Audi is the world’s first carmaker to use such a system in an electrically powered series production vehicle. The cleverly designed aerodynamics also contribute significantly to its efficiency.
It is equipped with the high-end media center MMI navigation plus LTE Advanced and a Wi-Fi hotspot as standard. Numerous assist systems further relieve the driver. For example, the standard efficiency assist promotes an economic driving style by displaying predictive information and performing automatic recuperation. If the customer selects the adaptive cruise assist, the system can also brake and accelerate the electric SUV predictively.
Later this year Audi Jamaica will welcome two additional models to the e-tron line up: the e-tron Sportback and the RS e-tron GT. The e-tron Sportback is the sporty coupé version of the e-tron, a popular amongst the Audi models following suit of its fellow models the Q3 Sportback, Q5 Sportback and the Q8. The high-performance four-door sports coupé, the RS e-tron GT is where progress meets power featuring exhilarating launch control, boosting the power to 637 HP. With e-torque vectoring plus ensuring enviable stability and handling in any driving situation, this highly adaptable all-wheel drive system intuitively powers each axle individually, making for exceptional traction, regardless of road conditions.
Without the traditional combustion engine, Audi designers were able to solidify the feeling of open space for passengers while retaining a driver-centric character.
As the worldwide market leader in its segment; the first fully electric series-production model from Audi is popular all over the world with customers and media alike. Numerous awards and comparative tests stand testament to this. In 2019, the e-tron won more than two-thirds of all comparative tests. In addition, readers of “AUTO BILD Allrad” magazine voted the e-tron “all-wheel drive car of the year” in the “all-wheel drive hybrids and electric cars” category in Germany in 2019, to name a few.
