The Audi A7 Sportback
The Audi A7 Sportback* is the “2019 World Luxury Car.” The A7 Sportback is the second Audi to take home the award after the Audi A8* won it last year. The awards were presented last week at the New York International Auto Show.
The World Car jury, consisting of 86 members from 24 countries, voted to distinguish the Audi A7 Sportback as the best new luxury car on the world market. This is the tenth victory for Audi in one of the World Car categories.
“It is a great honor for Audi to win the ‘World Luxury Car’ award twice in a row,” says Hans-Joachim Rothenpieler, Member of the Board of Management of AUDI AG Technical Development. “We are very proud of this award because it shows Audi’s ability to develop leading premium cars in various segments.”
The design of a coupe, the space of a sedan, and the variability of an Avant—the new Audi A7 Sportback combines the best of three worlds. It is a new style of Gran Turismo, offering systematic digitalization, a dynamic driving experience, and a space concept that combines a wide range of customer requirements.
The Audi A7 has always been a favourite among consumers, with its striking looks and powerful turbocharged engine, is among the most sophisticated hatchbacks on planet earth. With comfort features, such as the optional adaptive air suspension, which allows you to change between 5 different ride heights, the exceptional Bang and Olufsen 3D sound system, and an array of safety features, including automated emergency braking, the newly designed A7 is a master-class.
Optional Heads-up display, wireless phone charging, a 360 degree multifunction camera, apple car play, Android Auto, the all-digital dashboard, including Audi Virtual Cockpit and two large touch screens, makes the A7 a dream to drive. All this is underpinned by Audi’s legendary AWD system, Quattro, and a powerful 3.0Litre Turbo charged V-6 engine which produces 340hp and 369 lb ft. of torque.
This award comes on the heel of the local Audi Q8 launch here in Jamaica, a model with which the Audi A7 & last year’s winner, the A8, shares a lot of technology, and holds true to the Audi tagline of “Vorsprung durch technic”, which means leading through technology.
