This begins with fresh sheet metal that screams opulence at every angle. There’s only so much that can be done with an SUV’s boxy practical shape, but Kia makes the Sorento stand out with bold creases and sharp muscular lines. The brand’s tiger nose grille gets a futuristic update flacked by dramatic LED headlights. In the rear the vertical lighting hints at Kia’s cat-like design philosophy. Kia ranked #1 brand in industry in J.D. Power U.S. Initial Quality Study

The Kia brand has been ranked number one in the industry by J.D. Power in the 2020 U.S. Initial Quality Study (IQS). For the 6th consecutive year, Kia is the number one mass-market automotive brand and is considered to be having “An exceptional run,” according to Dave Sargent, Vice President, Automotive Quality, J.D. Power.

Kia’s continued success in IQS this year was led by the brand having two models including the Forte (locally referred to as the Cerato) among the top 10 vehicles in the industry. Kia also had segment-best performances from the aforementioned Forte in the category of Compact Car, Sedona (locally referred to as Carnival) in the category of Minivan, Sorento in the category of Upper Midsize SUV and Soul in the category of Small SUV.

Kia owners reported fewer issues within the first 90 days of ownership than all other non-luxury car and truck brands in the U.S. After ranking highest in the entire industry in 2016 and 2017, Kia’s reported problem levels remain unchanged from 2017 to capture the top mass market automaker spot.
