2021 Kia Sorento: Korean luxury comes of age

January 11, 2021 / 0 Comments / 1467 / ATL News, Kia

The Kia Sorento has always been knocking on the door of the upscale, luxury, sport utility vehicle (SUV) segment. For 2021, it kicks that door wide open and cements itself as a viable contender above its Asian rivals and German contemporaries.

This begins with fresh sheet metal that screams opulence at every angle. There’s only so much that can be done with an SUV’s boxy practical shape, but Kia makes the Sorento stand out with bold creases and sharp muscular lines. The brand’s tiger nose grille gets a futuristic update flacked by dramatic LED headlights. In the rear the vertical lighting hints at Kia’s cat-like design philosophy. Opt for the higher trims and larger 20-inch wheels are available for even more stunning looks.

Kia Niro Shines Bright

November 6, 2020 / 0 Comments / 1288 / ATL News, Auto Reviews, Kia

The local hybrid market has been left largely open when it comes to new cars. The 2020 Kia Niro smartly fills that niche, a niche expected to grow as vehicles converge on the concerns of environment, fuel economy and electrification.

The Niro doesn’t scream hybrid. This is your standard small sport utility vehicle (SUV) fitted with an internal combustion engine and an onboard battery-powered electric motor. Rather than go space age, it sticks with standard visual considerations for the class, but is by no means a boring looking SUV. The Niro is a very sporty in external styling, having razor-sharp lines accentuated by muscular curves. It continues Kia’s modern design language capped off by a future-inspired rendition of their signature tiger grille.

March 26, 2020 / 0 Comments / 1163 / ATL News, Kia

When the Kia brand in Jamaica made the decision to refresh a section of its Kingston location, it was only right to engage local talent for the task. Jamaican artist and graphic designer Roshane Taylor created art that truly speaks to the brand, the vision and everything it stands for. A brightly coloured mural on the wall of the Kia delivery bay fuses both Jamaican and Asian culture to show a world of never-ending adventure and surprises.

Opportunities like these show entrepreneurs and creative minds that our corporate community recognizes and appreciates their craft, products or services. At ATL Automotive, we have made it our duty to give back to Jamaica by endorsing the younger generation of entrepreneurs and other groups that crave support.

Kia Cerato – Delivering The Speed

September 24, 2019 / 0 Comments / 1172 / ATL News, Kia

Kia has been steadily impressing me with how it packages their vehicles. Before now, there have been two standouts: the Sportage, which is an edgy and great-performing SUV; and the 2.2 litre diesel engine, which is one of the best-performing engines on our market and can be found in the Kia Carnival.

Now comes the Cerato, a compact car that Kia started to produce in 2003 to compete in the much smaller sedan market. I kept an open mind, knowing that all the craze these days is around SUVs and, sadly, sedans are left lacking.
