ATL OPENS BODY SHOP!

ATL Automotive Group launched a new US$3-million state-of-the-art body shop facility in Bougue, St James, on Wednesday.

Minister of Transport and Mining Audley Shaw, in his remarks, noted that the ATL Group can be seen as a beacon and a source of inspiration to the potential of Jamaica achieving excellence.

Arguing that, while Singapore’s per capita income is close to US$70,000 in comparison to Jamaica’s less than US$6,000, it is not late for Jamaica to catch up, and ATL is capable of leading the way.

Honda to unveil new City

Honda, through local dealer ATL Honda — a division of the ATL Automotive Group — will debut the Honda City in April. The 2021 City will be an updated version of the ever- popular sub-compact sedan, first introduced in 2009.

“We’re absolutely excited to have the new City added to our Honda line-up. We know customers will also love it because of its practicality, affordability and its excellent resale value when they’re ready to upgrade to their next Honda model,” Petrena Purser, general manager of Honda Jamaica, told the Jamaica Observer’s weekly Auto magazine.

Audi Q3 revamps with sharper designs

The subcompact SUVs are all the craze these days, because of their ride height and storage capacity, plus, they are usually built on a car’s chassis. This greatly improves the ride comfort and manoeuvrability, while it gives them the ability to tackle challenging road conditions. This concept has been a trend from the mid ’90s, with Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V being some of the frontrunners.

It seemed as though luxury automakers were the last to catch on to the trend, as most waited until the late 2000s to manufacture these body types. In 2011, Audi entered the market with their luxury crossover, the Q3, with a dynamic 1.4L engine that promised to add power while saving gas.
